The Apple Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Senior Vice President, Luca Maestri, is auctioning off the opportunity to have lunch with himself and one other guest and a tour of the beautiful Apple headquarters. This event is estimated by the charity website running the auction, CharityBuzz, at just $50,000 and currently at the time of writing it is at $13,000. And the final call for the auction is December 5, 2019, at 11 am PT.
The charity that is going to receive the funding from the auction is called the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. And according to the CharityBuzz website, their mission “is to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, distress due to illness and social exclusion by promoting and supporting national and international projects that promote the overcoming of these barriers.”
Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, has done lunches and tours like these in the past with Charitybuzz. The last on in 2017 was for the Robert F Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and earned that charity $680,000.
