As Apple employees stay home due to work-from-home procedures, there is a human cost, kids, and caregivers. Trying to work from home while you are also trying to take care of others is a challenge, so, Apple and others want to help.
CNET reports today that Apple, alongside Uber, Facebook, and Google is making accommodations for employees who are currently struggling with working from home during COVID-19, the report states:
No deadline is too important, and no priority is more urgent, than caring for our loved ones. Our goal is to be flexible, collaborative and accommodating of every parent and caregiver on our teams,” said Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet. “This is a trying time for everyone — especially parents — and we want to do all we can to support every member of our Apple family.
Apple has also increased internal communication with employees, telling all staff that any assistance they need they should not hesitate to contact their managers, while also telling managers to remain proactive.
For one, it’s nice to see Apple, who has always seemed to focus on the human side of things reach out and such personal ways to employees at a time when many feel alone, and isolated.
