Deadline reports today that Apple has signed an overall deal with Alena Smith, the creator and executive producer for the Apple TV+ show, Dickinson. Under the new agreement which has been in negotiation for months, Alena will now work exclusively on content for Apple TV.
This comes as Dickinson got nominated for multiple awards, and shoot up the ranks of shows, as Deadline reports:
Following its premiere on November 1, 2019, Dickinson quickly emerged as one of Apple’s best received original series. Also nominated for a GLAAD Media Award,Dickinson was renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere. Season 2 is slated to debut later this year.
While season 2 is in the works, it has been delayed due to the COVID19 pandemic alongside other Apple TV shows.
