Apple’s head of diversity and inclusion leaves

At the same time Apple vows to tackle racism amid a higher level of discussion about racial injusites, Bloomberg reports that the comapnies Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Christie Smith has left the role.

According to people familiar with the case, the departure was planned two months ago and her official last day was on Tuesday, June 16th. She originally joined the company in 2016 following in the footsteps of her predecessor which resigned after making comments on the diversity of Apple’s executive team.

A replacement is yet to be named.
