Apple has acquired VR startup Spaces which originally started as a DreamWorks project in early of 2016, Protocol reports.

Last week Spaces announced that it was suspending its current services and projects, with its website saying it was “heading in a new direction”. In a message posted on its website, Spaces thanks its users for taking part in the projects and products it’s created, but stopped short of specifying where this “new direction” is actually heading.

Apple often purchases small startups and companies for their staff and technology. As for Spaces, Apple is likely to implement its range of products and technologies into its rumored Apple Glasses project, although that remains unconfirmed.
