Apple announced yesterday that its brand new Apple Store, the Apple Marina Bay in Singapore will open to the public on September 10th. The store, a floating sphere sitting directly on the water is an open, beautiful space that offers a full 360-degree uninterpreted panoramic view of the Singaporean skyline.
The structure is an all-glass structure that Apple says is fully self-supported and comprised of 114 pieces of glass with 10 vertical curved stell roads around it for structural connection. When inside, the dome allows natural sunlight to beam through with uniquely shaped baffles to angle the suns rays and “provide a nighttime lighting effect”
“We couldn’t be more excited to open the breathtaking Apple Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, building on our commitment to this special place that began more than 40 years ago,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People. “Our passionate and talented team is ready to welcome this community to our new store and deliver the care and support that our customers around the world love.”
Like all Apple Stores open during the time of COVID19, there are strict precautionary measures in place. First, visits to the store will only take place if you have an appointment to ensure proper social distancing for the store’s limited space. You can order an appointment here.
