DigiTimes reports that Apple is increasing its orders for datacenter server components as it expects an increase in sales for its online services such as Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple News+. The increase in component orders has been on a gradual increase since Q2 of this year, and related shipments are expected to double for the whole of 2020 and 2021.

Apple may be gearing up for a huge release cycle this fall, with new iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches, and Macs. Customers who currently purchase a new product get a free one-year subscription to Apple TV+. Apple may continue to offer a similar deal with this year’s new releases. The expansion of datacenters may also be in preparation for the launch of “Apple One“, a subscription service bundle that is coming sometime this year according to Bloomberg.
