Today Apple released the 2nd beta update to iOS 14.2, it’s next major update to the iOS/iPadOS 14 operating system. Skipping over iOS 14.1, iOS 14.2 includes a redesign to the Now Playing section in Control Center and deeper Shazam integration.

The new Shazam integration allows users to find out what song is playing directly on their device via a new toggle within Control Center. The newly redesigned music player on the lockscreen includes larger album artwork alongside suggestions, which works in all music apps. Alongside the new visual changes, the update builds on bug fixes and improvements from iOS 14’s initial release.

iOS 14.2 beta 1 at launch supported the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR, however, following users reports that the update would fail on verification, Apple revoked support.
