Apple Stores are beginning to receive new device shipments which are likely the 4th gen. iPad Air ahead of its launch sometime this month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.

Apple which unveiled the 4th gen. iPad Air with an all-new embedded Touch ID sensor and an edge-to-edge screen in September says that the new iPad will be available in October. Last week hopes were high that the iPad Air would be opened for pre-orders, however, they still remain unavailable.

There are numerous indications that the launch of the iPad is imminent. Alongside today’s reporting of device shipments, over the past few weeks, marketing material for the new iPad have been appearing in Apple Stores and authorized resellers around the world. Current speculation is that Apple will announce a specific date for the iPad to be available for purchase during its “Hi, Speed” iPhone 12 launch event on Tuesday, October 13th.

Mark Gurman states that the new device shipments are likely the new iPads as shipments for the iPhone 12, which will be announced at Apple’s “Hi, Speed” event are expected to come later in October and in November for certain models.
