Certain Taiwaniness telecom operators began taking pre-orders for the new iPhone 12 on October 14th, one day after they were announced by Apple. DigiTimes reports that iPhone 12 pre-sales estimates sold out in less than an hour, per the report:
Telecom operators, including Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and Taiwan Mobile, all began taking pre-orders on October 14, with CHT saying it sold out its pre-sales quota within 45 minutes.
Out of the pre-orders, 65% were for the iPhone 12, lining up with Ming-Chi Kuo’s prediction that the 6.1-inch model will sell the most. FET or Far EasTone Telecommunications said that the pre-orders for the new iPhones were 3x times higher than the pre-orders for the iPhone 11 from last year.
