At the time of writing the 2020 Presidental Election is still underway with no clear winner. Millions in the US and around the world are glued to their TVs, anxiously waiting for more results to come through the doors.
Election Night, and what may turn into an “Election Week” typically gathers incredibly high ratings for TV news outlets and incredible exposure for their sponsors. These times are highly stressful for everyone, and one company, in particular, is aiming to capitalize on it.
First spotted by DJ Bean, popular mediation app “Calm” is the official sponsor for CNN’s “Key Race Alert” segments for its 2020 Election Coverage. Key Race Alerts appear whenever there is a change in voting information for a specific state, that could show one candidate leading/losing to the other.
In a statement to TeenVogue, the app confirmed the sponsorship saying that it’s their hope to help viewers breathe and relax during the stressful time.
“We understand the uncertainty of this election cycle can be a source of anxiety for many of us, especially as it coincides with an ongoing pandemic.
