Apple today confirmed that the next version of its major macOS operating system, macOS Big Sur will launch to customers on November 12th.

Announced at WWDC, macOS Big Sur did not launch alongside other new OS updates such as iOS/iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7 earlier in September. Last week Apple released macOS 11.0.1 release candidate, which instead of macOS 11.0 being the first update to ship, it’ll be the 11.0.1 version.

macOS Big Sur includes a major redesign of the software. From an updated design that includes more transparency, more vibrant colors, and icons, the update is the biggest update to macOS ever.
