In a note to investors seen by Apple Terminal, analyst Ming Chi-Kuo says that Apple will release new AirPods, the AirPods 3 in the first half of next year.

The new AirPods according to Kuo will have a similar design to the AirPods Pro, and that supplier Jialianyi will be the biggest winner from these new orders. Earlier last month Bloomberg reported similar information about the AirPods 3 featuring a similar design to the AirPods Pro with a smaller stem.

Kuo also says that mini LED iPad’s will go into mass production in the middle of the first half of next year, likely aiming for a release shortly after. Moving onto the “iPhone 13” which Kuo previously reported on, he says that it will be the first iPhone to include a “soft battery design,” which will help save internal space and reduce cost.

For those who don’t know, a soft battery is a type of battery where the first layer of the battery shell is a polymer shell. Unlike normal battery which have a steel or aluminum shell, polymer shells are better for safety, can come in smaller sizes, lighter weight, and produce a higher amount of energy.
