On Thursday Apple released macOS Big Sur to the public, with it brought support for iOS apps to run on Macs with Apple Silicon. A number of apps are getting updated with Apple SIlicon and Universal 2 support, allowing the apps to also run on Intel-based Macs.
Earlier today Twitter pushed an update for its Mac app that brought with it an updated icon that resembles the rest of Big Sur’s design language, and updated support for Mac Catalyst. The new version of Twitter improves on Apple’s latest Catalyst technology with updated sidebars and overall performance.
The update also officially brings support for Universal 2, enabling the app to run natively on Apple Silicon Macs when they are shipped next week. Like its iOS counterpart, however, Twitter on Big Sur yet offers any widgets. You can download the new version of Twitter here.
