This year’s iPhone is split into two families, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12. Those two are towards the lower end of the iPhone spectrum and come in bright vibrant colors such as red, green, and blue.
On the higher end of the spectrum, there is the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, the “Pro” models of the 2020 iPhone. Apple has been on a trend to offer more metallic and less vibrant colors for its Pro devices, given the company thinks that brighter colors are somewhat “not-Pro”.
The lack of vibrant colors for the Pro models means those devices lack a PRODUCT (RED) color. Apple offers products in PRODUCT (RED) colors which it then donates a portion of the proceeds to the Global Fund for COVID19.
While Apple doesn’t officially offer a PRODUCT (RED) iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max variant, that won’t stop us from envisioning one. Developer @OnlyTrueWilliam worked up a killer render of the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max, starring the lineups iconic flat edges, and LiDAR sensor in a full PRODUCT (RED) setup, complete with a matching wallpaper.
Despite our best hopes and wishes, it’s unlikely Apple will add a PRODUCT (RED) model to its “Pro” iPhones, but if they do, it’ll definitely be a popular model.
